You can help us to improve the lives of those who have suffered brain injuries.

Our dedicated volunteers are vital to the work of Headway Leicester.

Volunteers can be of help in many ways, from supporting members with activities to providing much needed 1-1 attention for members at our day service and and groups.

I found out about Headway through my Rehabilitation Psychology course, I’ve been helping at the day centre for one year and really enjoy talking with the members and assisting them to complete their current projects. I always have a good laugh as everyone is in high spirits despite suffering from an acquired or traumatic brain injury. It is really rewarding being able to help the people here at Headway.

Volunteering at Headway has been a massive eye-opener for me. I get to meet and support people who have to cope with life-changing conditions. So many of the members have an amazing work ethic and, with the support of the staff, are to produce good quality items across a whole range be it in the workshop, dayroom, kitchen or garden.

Then our NEW ‘Bloom After Brain Injury’ project needs you!

We are looking for some green fingered volunteers to help re-generate our garden at Headway House.

You will be helping to maintain, develop and protect our community garden so that it can be enjoyed by the brain injury survivors we support. Tasks will include helping with the upkeep development and protection of the garden, planting, deadheading, weeding borders, pruning trees, tidying up, etc.
