We are completely thrilled to be nominated in the Niche 2025 Business Awards, sponsored by trident as Charity of the Year!
There have been some truly significant moments over the last 12 months, but our highlights include taking a group to the Norfolk Broads, winning a National Lottery grant which gives us the opportunity to grow our community outreach team and services; being a Highly Commended finalist at the NHS Parliamentary Awards (having been nominated by our local MP) and our Summer Open Day, with such a good turnout of our supporters and friends!
As an organisation we are in a period of change, growth and increasing resilience which of course has not been without its challenges. Our incredible staff and volunteers have worked with us along the way, and every milestone of the last year is down to all of us as team. We have undertaken building work including our new kitchen, ambitious fundraising events, new projects, new staff, new therapy strategies such as the Fatigue Management course, and we had an impressive footfall of visitors and community delivery partners across the threshold too! We have been fortunate in our fundraising success with awards from grants and trusts, from grocers and local businesses plus an increase in individual fundraisers and donors too. This success is also attributed to the generosity and courage of so many people outside of the organisation.
All Headway groups will tell you that the best part of the job is all about the people, and that’s because it is, it really is! And here with staff, volunteers, members and their families we are blessed with so many good, funny, quirky, talented and brave personalities; we absolutely love working with each one of them!
We are so proud this year of the members; all the new things they have tried, the friendships they have made; the engagement in everything we throw at them, really, they inspire us in some way every day! Members highlights this year include Dinks passing his driving test and getting back on the road and Chris travelling to New Zealand by himself too! We think their achievements matter the most and we hope you can celebrate these with us too!
“If everyone is moving forward together, then success takes care of itself.”
