Today was Hair Dye Day for Headway Leicester volunteer Michael….

man with blue hair

Michael Condon, who has been volunteering with Headway Leicester for just nine months has been on a fundraising mission and today (which is also his birthday!) dyed his hair to help us raise vital funds for our Digital Day Centre which launches on Monday 1 June. Supporters have been donating and pledging which new hair colour they would like!

The generosity of the public has been incredible and so far he has raised over £3200, smashing his original target of £1350. All funds raised will allow Headway Leicester to continue to provide vital support virtually over Zoom to our members while our doors are currently closed.

Ruth Johnson, Fundraising and Events Officer at Headway Leicester, said:

“We are overwhelmed at how committed Michael has been to this cause, with our face-to-face services currently paused due to COVID-19 we know our members have been struggling with the lack of routine and are missing their friends, the launch of our Digital Day Centre also coincides with the start of Volunteers Week. We will be celebrating the difference volunteers, like Michael make to our organisation and thanking them for all their time and dedication during this year’s Volunteers’ Week, which runs from 1-7 June”.
