Headway Leicester has once again been selected as one of The Landmark Trust’s 50 for Free recipients! The Landmark Trust offers 50 self-catering breaks in their amazing historic buildings to the nominees of charities and non-profit organisations.
That’s 50 short breaks in some of the most treasured Landmarks across England, Scotland and Wales going directly to those who most need a break.
“To be able to gift one of our families a stay is wonderful”
says Service Director Mary Goulty.
“Martin and his family will be able to spend quality days together creating new memories whilst escaping from the busy routine of day-to-day life“.
Their stay is at Dolbelydr, which is welsh for “Meadow of the Rays of the Sun” is a 16th-century gentry house and has many of its original features including a first floor solar open to the roof beams. The house sleeps up to 6 people and is spread over 3 floors. The property is also close to traditional seaside attractions of Rhyl and Prestatyn.
Martin and his family are off to Wales!
“Martin is so looking forward to taking photos for next year’s family calendar as the virus has really limited getting out and about.
He is deciding where we can go and explore, which takes a lot of research. Checking the opening times and the access for less mobile visitors.
He will be looking at the best routes with suitable food and comfort stops on the way and will be working with his dad as to length of each section, so we all have exercise stops.
Martin will be planning his wardrobe, looking at the weather forecasts, and making a list with his mum regarding what food we need to take.
You can see from the above that even a short trip is so good for Martin to be encouraged to be very involved in the planning and driving.
We’re all looking forward to exploring the Welsh countryside and seeing the sea again. So, we all thank you for this unexpected holiday”.
